Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) has invited bids from international suppliers for the procurement of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes for delivery at Port Qasim later this month, according to a tender notice.
The state-owned company is seeking supplies on a Delivered Ex-Ship (DES) basis under tender number PLL/IMP/LNGT64.
According to the tender document, the first cargo is scheduled for delivery between May 12 and May 14, 2026, while the second cargo is planned for May 24-26, 2026.
Each cargo will carry around 140,000 cubic metres of LNG, with a tolerance of plus or minus 2% as specified in the bid documents.
Pakistan LNG Limited, a subsidiary of Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL), said the procurement is aimed at meeting the country’s gas requirements.
The company stated that bid documents could be obtained from the date of advertisement until May 7, 2026, either through physical collection from PLL’s office or via email request.
Interested suppliers have been directed to submit bids by 1400 PST on May 7, while bid opening is scheduled for 1430 PST on the same day under Public Procurement Regulatory Authority rules.
The tender notice stated that Pakistan LNG Limited reserves the right to reject any or all bids before acceptance under Rule 33 of Public Procurement Rules, 2004.
Pakistan has increasingly relied on spot and term LNG imports to bridge shortages in domestic gas supply, particularly during periods of higher seasonal demand.
Last month, Pakistan LNG Limited floated a separate tender for three LNG cargoes for April and May deliveries amid supply route disruptions and load-shedding concerns in the country.
The company later received four bids from international suppliers for spot procurement of LNG cargoes under that tender.
Separately, Azerbaijan’s state-owned energy company SOCAR recently expressed willingness to supply LNG to Pakistan under a 2025 framework agreement that allows faster procurement through SOCAR Trading.
