Pakistan waives financial instrument condition for mango exports to Iran, Central Asia
Commerce Ministry grants four-month exemption from June to September to support mango exports through Iran land route amid Gulf market disruptions

The Ministry of Commerce has granted a four-month exemption from the financial instrument requirement for mango exports to Iran and Central Asian states through Iran’s land route to facilitate trade and support exporters during the ongoing mango season.
According to a notification issued by the ministry, the exemption will remain effective from June 1 to September 30, 2026.
Under the decision, exporters will not be required to provide the financial instrument mandated under the SBP’s foreign exchange regulations for mango shipments to Iran and CIS countries through Iran.
Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchants Association Waheed Ahmed welcomed the decision, saying the relief had been announced ahead of the start of the mango export season on June 1.
He said the exemption would help increase Pakistani mango exports to Iran and Central Asian markets at a time when exports to Gulf and Middle Eastern countries were facing challenges due to regional tensions.
According to Ahmed, exporters are currently dealing with higher freight charges and disruptions in flight operations affecting shipments to Gulf markets.
He added that the exemption could help offset potential export losses from Gulf destinations by improving access to Iranian and Central Asian markets.
Ahmed further said the PFVA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, plans to organise roadshows in Central Asian states this year to promote Pakistani mangoes and expand exports in the region.
