Daraz appoints Ben Yi as managing director in Pakistan, Ehsan Saya to serve as principal adviser

South Asia’s leading e-commerce platform, Daraz Group, has announced the appointment of Ben Yi as Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan to drive the company’s next phase of growth. The appointment will take effect on July 1, 2026.

Ben brings extensive leadership experience across the Alibaba Group ecosystem since joining in 2015, with a strong track record of driving marketplace growth, cross-border commerce, business development, and platform operations. He currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer of Daraz Group and Managing Director of Daraz Bangladesh.

Ben will succeed Ehsan Saya, who has led Daraz Pakistan for seven and a half years and, more recently, also served as Managing Director of Daraz Sri Lanka. Ehsan has been closely associated with the growth of Pakistan's e-commerce sector during a defining period for the industry. Ehsan led Daraz Pakistan in serving more than 28 million customers, creating opportunities for over 300,000 sellers and brands, and contributing to the advancement of Pakistan's digital economy. During his tenure, Daraz Pakistan grew into the Group's largest market and a benchmark for operational and financial excellence across the organization. 

Ehsan also worked closely with policymakers and ecosystem stakeholders over the years, helping support the development of progressive policy frameworks for an emerging and largely unregulated industry, with a focus on creating long-term value for consumers, sellers, and businesses. 

Daraz Group expressed its appreciation to Ehsan for his leadership, vision, and lasting contribution to the business.

Ehsan will continue to support Daraz Pakistan as Principal Advisor, providing strategic guidance to the leadership team and ensuring continuity of institutional knowledge, key stakeholder relationships, and long-term market perspective. In this role, he will continue to contribute to the company's strategic priorities and support its next phase of growth and transformation.
