Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp users in Pakistan and several other countries reported access problems on Thursday as multiple Meta-owned platforms appeared to suffer a global outage.
According to outage tracking websites, including Downdetector and downforeveryoneorjustme, users began reporting error messages while trying to access Facebook through mobile apps and web browsers on June 12.
In Pakistan, users reported difficulties uploading photos, videos and other content on Facebook and Instagram, while some also experienced problems accessing certain platform features.
The disruption also affected Instagram and WhatsApp desktop, with users reporting login failures, inaccessible pages and error messages.
Reports indicated that the outage was not limited to one region, with users in the Philippines, Canada, the United States, Australia, India, Pakistan and other countries also facing similar issues.
Instagram and WhatsApp also recorded spikes in complaints during the same period.
Meta had not immediately issued a public statement explaining the cause of the disruption.
