Sudan’s commercial attaché invites Pakistani investors

Investment opportunities for Pakistani entrepreneurs are available in Sudan, where foreign investors enjoy equal rights as available for local businessmen.

This was stated by Sudan Commercial Attache Muhammad Ahmed Tyrab in Pakistan during his meeting with Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Raja Amer Iqbal here on Friday. RCCI Senior Vice-President Rashid Waien, Vice-President Asim Malik and member Kamran Saeed were also present in the meeting.

Commercial attaché invited Pakistani traders to visit Sudan for themselves, and see the potential opportunities available over there. He promised that there were lots of opportunities for joint ventures and investment in different sectors including agriculture, livestock and oil.

Muhammad Ahmed Tyrab said the Sudanese embassy would provide all possible assistance in arranging meaningful meetings.

Speaking on the occasion, RCCI president Raja Amer Iqbal endorsed the invitation and said that Pakistani investors should avail the offer to enhance business and economic relations with the brotherly Islamic country. Pakistan’s exports to Sudan amount to $67 million and imports up to $2.20 million. Sudan imports cement, steel, rice and electrical equipment and exports cotton and leather to Pakistan, said RCCI president. He urged the exchange of delegations to explore markets of African countries including Sudan. Joint ventures in poultry, marble, pharmaceutical and information technology sectors can help both countries to increase the trade volume. Single country exhibitions can be a great source of introducing products in each other’s markets, he said. The RCCI president also briefed him about the current and upcoming events and activities of RCCI.
