Over 100 Russian companies are interested in investing in the pharmaceutical, machines manufacturing, construction and other sectors in Pakistan; and the Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) should guide and cooperate in this regard. This was stated by a delegation comprising officials of the Trade Commission of Russian Consulate in Karachi led by Alexy Kudrayavtsey while talking to SBI Chairperson Naheed Memon at her office here on Wednesday, stated a statement issued on Wednesday.
They discussed matters related to mutual interests and promotion of trade and business activities between Pakistan and Russia.
Talking to the delegation, the chairperson said the promotion of business and trade between Pakistan and Russia will create more opportunities for prosperity and development. She also stressed the need to utilise the potential investment opportunities on both sides.
The Russian delegation briefed the SBI chairperson regarding the history and background of trade relations between Pakistan and Russia and how Russian helped the then government of Pakistan to establish the steel mill of Pakistan, the delegation added.
The SBI chairperson assured her full cooperation with the Russian companies and agreed to continue coordination and holding meeting to serve the purpose.
