Tax limit of salaried employees revised to be Rs500,000 annually

Salaried employees will be allowed relaxation in 2017-18 budget, as those earning over Rs 500,000 annually will be liable to pay taxes instead of the previous tax net of Rs 400,000 annually, media sources have reported.

According to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), 2017-18 budget is being devised to benefit the salaried workers, and this decision has been taken considering the devaluation of the rupee.

On the other hand, the employees have demanded that the annual tax limit  be revised to make it  at least Rs 1m since living standards of paid workers remain very low.
