Chinese company likely to set up textile unit in Karachi

One of the leading Chinese textile machinery manufacturers, Qingdao Haijia is currently in a negotiation process for setting up a manufacturing plant for its products in Karachi, a top Chinese industry official has informed local media sources.

The said company showed interest during the 10th International Textile Machinery and Garment Technology Exhibition (IGATEX) 2017 at the Expo Centre. The 3- day exhibition was inaugurated by Hassan Iqbal, federal secretary of textile industry and attended by numerous government officials and industry personnel.

He said it was a sign of pride that the international exhibition was back in Karachi after several years. “It is an international level Iqbal stated that it is a proud moment that the exhibition is back in Karachi after several years abd since the textile sector makes up 60 pc economy,  such affairs need to be encouraged.

Qingdao Haijia Machinery Co Ltd’s minister of international trade Eiffel revealed  the company’s plans to set up  Waterjet and Airjet Loom machines in Karachi. He further informed that the company is awaiting for the trade policies to become more favorable to establish the manufacturing plant in the city.

Qingdao Haijia is a major contributor of Chinese textile machinery exports with a wide customer base including Pakistan, India, South and North Koreas, Vietnam, Indonesia, Egypt, Nepal, and various other countries.
