Pakistan upgraded to MSCI Emerging Markets status

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange was upgraded to Morgan Standley Capital International Emerging Markets status on Tuesday (today).

The PSX observed a bullish trend today with KSE-100 index rising up by 400 points to reach a new level of 52,700.

MSCI is reviewing the proportion of Pakistani stock market to be included from June 1, 2017. The announcement will define the new course of the market.

Ahead of the MSCI announcement, the PSX reached a new height of 52,500 points by the addition of 770 points to the benchmark 100-index on Monday.
