Pakistan’s Wheat Board says wheat stocks are sufficient across the country, with no shortage reported. The meeting assessed production, procurement and market prices, citing higher output this season.

Pakistan has adequate wheat reserves and there is no shortage of the commodity across the country, provincial representatives informed the 9th meeting of the Wheat Board, which reviewed the national wheat supply and production outlook.
The meeting, chaired by Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain, assessed wheat production, available stocks, procurement and prevailing market prices. Provincial officials unanimously reported that wheat inventories remain sufficient to meet domestic demand.
During the meeting, the minister said this year's wheat production is estimated to be 1.36 million metric tonnes higher than last year's output, describing the increase as a positive development for the country's food security.
Board members also unanimously agreed that the estimated wheat production target for the current season had been achieved and that Pakistan possessed adequate wheat reserves.
According to a senior official of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNF&R), the meeting was attended by the ministry's secretary, the chief secretaries of Punjab and Sindh, agriculture and food secretaries from all provinces, representatives of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association (PFMA), and other relevant stakeholders.
The session reviewed the overall wheat situation nationwide, with participants concluding that supplies remain stable and no province had reported any shortage of wheat.
