Pakistan wants strong trade relationship with African countries, says: PM

ISTANBUL: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that Pakistan desires to develop strong relations with African countries by enhancing trade, investment and defense cooperation.

He was talking to President of Guinea Alpha Conde in Istanbul on Saturday.

The Prime Minister said that developing public private partnerships and joint ventures will help take forward the relationship.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi offered Pakistan’s expertise to Guinea in textiles, leather, infrastructure development, information technology as well as to share experience of SMEs. He said Pakistan with its expertise and research facilities in agriculture sector can help Guinea to utilize its agricultural resources in an efficient manner.

Both the leaders endorsed the Turkish president’s proposal of expanding the D-8 organization for inclusion of other countries.

Discussing the global challenge of terrorism, the Prime Minister said Pakistan has achieved significant successes to eliminate this menace with national resolve.

The President of Guinea said terrorism was a common enemy and needed to be tackled effectively. He said his country wants strong bilateral relations with Pakistan in every field and said Guinea is open for Pakistani investors.
