KARACHI: Iqra University hosted a seminar on Leveraging CPEC for Karachi on 4th November. Speakers the likes of Ijaz Gilani, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, Lt General Agha Umer Farooq, Chairman NBEAC Mr Hassan Sohail Murad, Arif Habib, Aqeel Kareem Dedhi, Zubair Motiwala, Khalid Tawab along with Secretary Commerce and Industries were among some of the notable names present.
CPEC is a topic of interest and discussion for many. The seminar was a prelude to the upcoming Deans and Director’s Conference in February in collaboration with NBEAC. The event was a wide success with presentations and insight by the panel in addition to opening remarks by Shamyl Mooraj, consultant ORIC at Iqra University.
The talks by speakers elaborated on the current economic changes taking place and what impact this has on Pakistan and what it means to its people. The event was well attended by faculty members, other academics, members of the chamber of commerce, the business community, industrialists, multinationals and those also belonging to the banking sector. Several Chinese guests could also be identified in the audience alongside dignitaries from consulates.
Iqra University prides itself in stepping forward toward change and groundbreaking advancements for its students and the community at large. Feedback from most entails another session on similar dialogue is to make way soon.
Chancellor Erum Lakhani, Chairman Junaid Hussain Lakhani and Vice-Chancellor Dr Wasim Qazi were also present on the occasion and distributed souvenirs amongst the speakers. The event concluded with dinner for all attending guests for further networking and discussion.
