ISLAMABAD: Central Development Working Party (CDWP) is all set to take up a heavy agenda on Monday to approve 31 key projects in energy, water, health, science and technology, and housing etc worth billions of rupees.
According to the official documents available with Pakistan Today, the CDWP meeting would discuss for energy projects including Dargai Hydro Electric Power Station with a total cost of Rs 3,098.612 million. The CDWP would approve the release of Rs 2,032.934 million for the current fiscal year.
The meeting would also discuss releasing Rs 1988.87 million for another project named Evacuation of Power from 1230 MW RLNG Power Plant near Trimmu, Jhang. The total project cost is Rs 4339.05 million.
The CDWP would also approve a feasibility study for environmental impact assessment for 300 MW coal-fired power plant at Gwadar. The PC-I and bidding documents have been submitted for the release of Rs 209.7 million for the purpose.
Evacuation of Power from 350MW Siddique Sons Energy Coal-Fired Power Plant near Port Qasim would require the meeting to approve the release of Rs 1299.6 million. The total cost is Rs 2520.2 million for the purpose.
The meeting would also discuss Hydropower Project at Attabad lake, Hunza in Gilgit Baltistan. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 11,533.56 million while the CDWP is required to approve Rs 1997.35 million for the purpose.
The meeting would also consider two Water Resource projects including the construction of Papin Dam in Tehsil Rawalpindi. The project cost is Rs 5833.662 million but the meeting would require the release of Rs 100 million.
The meeting would also take up monitoring the Sea Water Intrusion, Sea Level Rise, Coastal Erosion and Land subsidence along Sindh and Balochistan with a project cost of Rs 650.056 million.
In Transport and Communications sector, the CDWP would consider the up-gradation of terminal facilities and dry ports. The project is proposed by Ministry of Railways with a total cost of Rs 2369.560 million. The CDWP requires the approval of Rs 444.729 million for the current fiscal.
The meeting would also consider Rehabilitation of Assets of Ministry of Railways damaged during the riots of December 27-28, 2007 soon after the assassination of former PPP chairwoman Benazir Bhutto. The total project cost is Rs 10,490.504 million but the release of Rs 850 million is required for the current fiscal.
The meeting would also consider reconstruction and rehabilitation of assets of Pakistan Railways damaged during the 2010 floods with a total cost of Rs 9,933.568 million. The CDWP would require approving Rs 1052.882 million for the project.
Construction of Black Top Road Taftan Bazar to Killi Sardar Abdul Rahim; and Killi Abdul Rahim to Wasab Talab, District Chagai would also be discussed with a cost of Rs 169.757 million. The project is a part of Chagi Package.
Construction of first floor of Academic Block at Civil Services Academy, Walton Lahore would also be considered with a total cost of Rs 140.554 million, while Rs 70 million has to be released this fiscal year.
Construction of Model Customs Collectorate at Gwadar is another project to be discussed with a total cost of Rs 2,525.25 million. Rs 110.00 would be released this year.
Construction of Auditorium at National Police Academy, Sector H-11, Islamabad is another project with a cost of Rs 79.461 million. The Ground Water Potential and Quality Evaluation in and around Quetta Valley would require the release of Rs 64 million while the total cost is Rs 148.011 million.
Business Complex R.O.D Plant is another project of Ministry of Ports and Shipping with a cost of Rs 345.184 million. This year Rs 100 million would be released.
Gwadar Lasbela Livelihoods Support Project would cost Rs 3,832.641 million. 200 Bedded Centre of Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Rawalpindi would cost Rs 5,316 million.
