APOTOA goes on strike for an indefinite period

LAHORE: Members of the All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owner Association (APOTOA) have launched an indefinite nationwide strike January 25 to protest perceived preferential treatment to National Logistic Cell (NLC) tankers.

APOTOA earlier announced to go on strike for an indefinite period following failed negotiations with Pakistan State Oil (PSO) over the perceived preferential treatment of NLC tankers. APOTOA has announced to stop all kind of services for PSO.

Nearly 85,000 fuel tankers will likely remain off the roads during the action, significantly disrupting the delivery of petroleum products across Pakistan. Fuel shortages are expected throughout the country; meanwhile, a prolonged strike could lead to public transport and supply chain disruptions.
