FPCCI hails Haroon Akhtar’s statement on coal power projects

ISLAMABAD: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President Ghazanfar Bilour has hailed statement of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar Khan stating that government shall extend full support for the timely completion of the Thar coal projects.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, Ghazanfar Bilour said that it will certainly reduce the existing shortfall in energy requirements. He said that businesses have been shut down due to a high tariff on gas and power and completion of the coal projects shall certainly provide relief to entrepreneurs in order to boost production.

He said that no effort was made in the past towards coal power projects to overcome the shortage of energy requirements and present government’s interest in the early completion of Thar coal project is most commendable.

This will also help us save foreign exchange which is at present being spent on the import of fuel, the FPCCI president said.

Ghazanfar Bilour said that FPCCI assures government full support in the implementation of all projects that can help boost the economy.
