ISLAMABAD: The sale of cement in the southern region of the country has increased by 21 per cent from 3.38 million tons in first six months of fiscal year 2017-18 (July to December) to 4.08 million tons during the current fiscal year.
However, local sales in the north have declined by 5.95 per cent from 16.45 million tons in the July to December period of 2017-2018 fiscal year to 15.47 million tons in the same period of the current fiscal year.
According to a report quoting the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), the overall domestic cement dispatches have decreased by 1.41 per cent in the first six months of the current fiscal year as compared to same period last year which is the first ever such instance in the last nine years.
