PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Saturday assured all-out support to address the issues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company Limited (KPOGCL), saying that it was encouraging that the company was now working on professional lines to achieve its targets of oil and gas exploration in the province.
He said KP had a rich potential of oil and gas that could be utilized for the prosperity of the province, adding that the government was committed to providing an ideal environment to the investors in this regard.
The minister was presiding over a meeting at the Chief Minister Secretariat. KP Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai, Advisor to CM on Energy Hamayatullah Khan and KPOGCL representatives attended the meeting.
The meeting was briefed on the establishment of KPOGCL, its domain, ongoing activities and its plan for future.
It was informed that KPOGCL was established as a holding company of KP in 2014. However, due to some reasons, the company could not achieve its real targets.
On the directives of the provincial government, the company has been realigned and the board of the company has also been reconstituted. Now, it was working on practicable lines in order to explore and utilize the advantages of oil and gas resources of the province.
The meeting stressed the need to attract investors and technology in the sector.
