PTA stopped from blocking unregistered cellphones

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday barred the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) from blocking unregistered cellphones.

While hearing a petition, PHC ordered PTA to not block unregistered phones for another three months.

Back in April, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) decision to block unregistered mobile phones was challenged in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The hearing was conducted by Justice Athar Minallah of the IHC.
