ISLAMABAD: The government is finalising a scheme to support small and medium industries across all sectors and it would be announced shortly, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Textiles, Industries, and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said on Sunday.
In a series of tweets, Dawood said, “The government is finalising a scheme to support SMEs across all sectors and this programme will be announced shortly.”
He said it is the government’s endeavour to help small businesses as compared to larger ones because of their weaker financial position.
The Adviser expressed hope that as the lockdown eases, exporters would be able to move forward under the news SOPs of the provinces.
Earlier, Dawood said the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) is following a policy that there should be no element of duties and taxes in exports.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has already said the government has introduced a loan scheme to facilitate Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to bring improvement in the economy.
He said the scheme would prove beneficial for those who are involved in setting up small and medium businesses.
