Petroleum companies suspend supply to pumps

All Pakistan Petroleum Retailer Association informed on Saturday that petrol companies have suspended the supply of petrol to pumps across the country.

In a statement, Sumair Gulzar, the head of the association, said the companies don’t have petrol and diesel in their stock because they knew that the government was reducing the prices of petroleum products.

The APPRA head said the local refinery had suspended its operations as it didn’t have space for storage.

He, however, said that two ships carrying 60 tonnes of petrol and diesel each will reach Karachi today (Saturday) and Sunday. The situation will get better in a day or two, he added.

  3. Not strange. The companies dint stock the products as they feared the govt will reduce petro prices which will welcome losses to the companies. And since no one was purchasing petro products, so refinary had to stop its operations as it had no space to store the oil. Hope the point is clear now.. Regards
