Budget Turkish airline Pegasus to take off from Karachi

KARACHI: Budget Turkish airline Pegasus is entering the Pakistani airspace competition by introducing flights to and from Karachi-Istanbul starting September 25, 2020.

Earlier this year, Pegasus announced their intention of flying to and from Karachi starting June 2020, however, as a result of corona-related uncertainty and restrictions on travel, flight operations will commence on September 25.

The airline plans to operate this route with the Airbus A320 aircraft. As per the schedule announced in the Press Release, Pegasus’ Karachi – Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen flights will commence on 25 September 2020.

Flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to Quaid-E-Azam International Airport will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 20:35, whilst flights from Quaid-E-Azam International Airport to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport will depart every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 04:55 (local times apply).

This will enable travellers to take advantage of Pegasus flight connections to destinations around the world including Manchester, London, Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Berlin, Vienna, Rome, Cologne, Brussels, Kyiv, Bucharest, Kharkiv, Moscow, Stuttgart, Geneva, Barcelona, Marseille, Zaporizhia, and Prague, via Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen.

Considering the fact that Turkish Airlines has carried an upwards of 10.15 million passengers to and from various cities in Pakistan over a span of more than 600 flights, the aviation enthusiasts feel that Pegasus, the second Turkish Carrier in Pakistan, will be able to penetrate the market.
