ISLAMABAD: The Oil Marketing Association of Pakistan (OMAP), led by its Senior Vice Chairman Tariq Mehmood, met with Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan on Saturday to discuss expanding and developing the fuel oil industry in Balochistan. The key focus of the talks was on establishing more licensed fuel stations across the province to ensure better service and high-quality fuel for the local population, according to an official press release.
During the meeting, Mehmood stressed the importance of a phased approach to rolling out licensed fuel stations in the region. He noted that this strategy would not only provide access to higher-quality fuel but also improve the overall consumer experience across Balochistan.
Minister Jam Kamal Khan proposed that each oil company should establish two to three fuel stations in every district of Balochistan. This, he argued, would stimulate business activity and create employment opportunities. To gain further support for the initiative, Khan contacted the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, who expressed his approval and pledged the full backing of the provincial government.
Khan highlighted the numerous advantages of shifting toward licensed fuel stations, stating that it would ensure better quality control and foster healthy competition in the market. “Moving towards a licensed fuel station framework will create a win-win scenario for consumers and businesses alike, ensuring that high-quality fuel is delivered while expanding opportunities for local station owners,” the minister remarked.
