OGRA notifies LPG price hike for February

LPG prices have been raised by Rs. 3.68 per kilogram

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced an increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), issuing a notification confirming the revised rates for February 2025.

According to the notification, LPG prices have been raised by Rs. 3.68 per kilogram, setting the new price at Rs. 253.97 per kg.

Additionally, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been increased to Rs. 2,997. The new prices will be effective for the entire month of February 2025.

It is relevant to note that as per clause 3.4.5 of the LPG Policy 2016, LPG prices will be regulated with a maximum price at all levels of the supply chain. However, producer, marketing companies, distributor may sell below the maximum price determined from time to time.

LPG is an alternate fuel basically used in Pakistan for domestic and commercial cooking fuel. It is also used in Auto, as Industrial fuel, in Power Generation and for any other energy generating equipment.

The increase in LPG prices is expected to impact domestic and commercial consumers, particularly in areas where LPG is a primary source of cooking and heating.
