Federal budget to be presented in NA on June 10, finance minister’s adviser confirms

Pakistan’s federal budget for fiscal year 2026-27 will be presented before the National Assembly on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Shehzad confirmed on Thursday.
The budget will outline the federal government’s fiscal priorities and policy measures for the next financial year.
Shehzad said in a statement on X that the Ministry of Finance and Revenue will release the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025-26 on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, ahead of the budget presentation.
The Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the survey, which will provide a review of Pakistan’s economic performance during the outgoing fiscal year.
The announcement comes after the federal government and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) agreed to recommend to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif that the federal budget be presented on June 10.
The agreement was reached during pre-budget consultations in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and senior PPP leaders.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, both sides unanimously agreed to recommend June 10 as the date for the budget announcement.
The consultation was held as part of the government’s discussions with coalition partners before finalising the federal budget.
The budget had earlier been expected on June 5, but the government later moved towards a revised schedule following consultations with allied parties.
