Budget FY2026–27 now set for June 12 as government revises schedule again

The federal government has revised the schedule for the upcoming budget cycle once again, confirming that the Federal Budget for fiscal year 2026–27 will now be presented in the National Assembly on June 12, 2026.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Advisor to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad, who stated that Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the budget before the lower house of parliament on Friday, June 12.

Ahead of the budget presentation, the government will release the Pakistan Economic Survey 2025–26 on June 11.

Finance Minister Aurangzeb is scheduled to launch the annual Economic Survey at a ceremony to be held at 2:20pm at the P-Block of the Pakistan Secretariat in Islamabad.

The Economic Survey provides a detailed assessment of Pakistan’s economic performance during the outgoing fiscal year and serves as a key reference document for budget preparation.

The latest change reflects another adjustment in the federal budget timetable. Earlier, the government had indicated the budget would be presented on June 10, after revising an initial schedule.

The upcoming budget will outline fiscal priorities, revenue measures and expenditure plans for FY27, as the government continues efforts to stabilise the economy and support growth.
