Pakistani rice exporters secure 60,000-tonne orders from Chinese buyers
REAP delegation wins orders in Guangzhou and Shenzhen as it seeks to expand basmati and non-basmati rice sales in China.

The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) has secured orders for 60,000 metric tonnes of Pakistani rice from Chinese buyers during a trade visit to Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
The delegation, led by Muhammad Jawed Jillani, Senior Vice Chairman, REAP, held business-to-business meetings with major rice importers, distributors and traders, the association said in a statement on Thursday.
The meetings focused on increasing sales of Pakistani basmati and non-basmati rice and developing longer-term commercial partnerships in the Chinese market.
REAP said the orders reflected growing Chinese demand for Pakistani rice and buyer confidence in its quality, aroma, pricing and supply reliability.
Muhammad Jawed Jillani said the orders demonstrated the impact of REAP’s efforts to promote Pakistani rice abroad and strengthen trade relations with China.
He described China as a strategically important market for Pakistan’s rice industry and said continued engagement could support higher exports and closer commercial cooperation between the two countries.
