Pakistan invites Türkiye to invest in dairy, cheese, and value-added industries

Aurangzeb seeks Turkish investment in livestock sector

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has urged Turkish investors to explore untapped opportunities in Pakistan’s dairy, cheese, and livestock sectors, aiming to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.

The invitation was extended during a meeting with Türkiye’s Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C. Aurangzeb acknowledged that while the two nations share strong historical relations, their bilateral trade and investment remain below potential.

He underscored Pakistan’s efforts to attract foreign capital and its interest in leveraging Türkiye’s expertise in high-tech and value-added industries. Aurangzeb also praised Ankara’s innovation-driven policies, expressing optimism that collaboration could unlock new growth avenues.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deeper economic engagement, with discussions covering trade facilitation, investment frameworks, and sectoral partnerships.
