Attock Petroleum partners with HUBCO Green to develop EV charging infrastructure

Agreement signed on April 24, 2025, aims to establish electric vehicle charging stations across Pakistan at APL locations

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) has entered into a collaboration agreement with HUBCO Green (Private) Limited (HGL), a subsidiary of Hub Power Holding Limited, to develop and market electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at selected APL locations across Pakistan.

According to a filing by Attock Petroleum at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, the agreement was finalised on April 24, 2025.

“We are pleased to inform that Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) has signed a collaboration agreement with HUBCO Green (Private) Limited (HGL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hub Power Holding Limited. Under the agreement, APL & HGL will develop and market electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at selected APL locations across Pakistan,” read the notice sent by the APL to the PSX.

This initiative is a significant step in Pakistan’s transition towards sustainable energy, aligning with global trends in the growing electric vehicle market.

As part of the agreement, APL and HGL will work together to build a network of EV charging stations at strategic locations to support the increasing demand for electric vehicles in the country.

After the announcement, Attock Petroleum’s stock saw a positive movement. The stock price rose by 1.17%, reaching Rs. 429.98, reflecting a gain of Rs. 4.97 in the early hours of trading on April 25, 2025.

This uptick comes amid increasing investor interest, possibly driven by the new partnership that positions Attock as a key player in the expanding EV infrastructure market in Pakistan.

Attock Petroleum’s principal activity is procurement, storage and marketing of petroleum and related products. According to the PSX website, the company’s market capitalisation stands at approximately PKR 53.5 billion with a free float of 20%.

In October 2024, HUBCO unveiled its plans to establish Hubco Green (Private) Limited, aimed at developing a nationwide electric vehicles charging network. On February 14, 2025, HUBCO Green entered into a collaboration agreement with Pakistan State Oil (PSO) to install charging stations at multiple PSO locations across Pakistan.
