ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Thursday reaffirmed the government’s commitment to utilizing resources in the best interest of citizens and aligning national priorities with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Dar made the remarks while chairing the 45th meeting of the Steering Committee on the SDGs Achievement Programme (SAP), which brought together key federal and provincial stakeholders.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of power, commerce, religious affairs, and science and technology, along with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, federal secretaries, members of the National Assembly, and officials from provincial governments.
The deputy prime minister emphasized the need to involve local communities in identifying basic development infrastructure projects to ensure relevance and sustainability.
During the session, it was decided that unallocated funds under the SAP would be surrendered, and implementing agencies were instructed to utilize allocated funds efficiently and responsibly.
