June 27, 2026

Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has said the government is not favouring any sector in fuel pricing and remains committed to passing on any benefit from lower international oil prices to consumers within Pakistan’s international obligations.
The statement came a day after the federal government decided to keep petroleum product prices unchanged until further notice.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) on Friday, the price of Motor Spirit, or petrol, will remain at Rs299.50 per litre, while High Speed Diesel will continue to be sold at Rs311.47 per litre.
In a post on X, Malik shared international Platts benchmark prices for petrol and diesel for the current week. Petrol prices ranged between $90.36 and $98.35 per barrel during June 22-26, while High Speed Diesel traded between $104.79 and $109.09 per barrel.
“Public Notice: Kindly review the international price plates for petrol and diesel for this week. The government is neither giving preference to any sector nor imposing any undue burden on any other. The government is committed, within the scope of its international obligations, to pass on any benefit to the consumers. In fulfillment of this pledge, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has so far reduced the price of diesel by 200 rupees per liter and petrol by 155 rupees per liter. Long live Pakistan!”
Malik said the government would continue to make fuel pricing decisions while balancing consumer relief with international commitments.
