LHC allows nearly 2,000 Punjab judges to buy allotted official cars at subsidised prices
Scheme covers Suzuki Alto, Toyota Corolla and Honda City vehicles allotted to district courts, special courts and judicial officers serving on deputation; subsidised rate range from Rs250,000 to Rs350,000

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has allowed nearly 2,000 judicial officers in Punjab to purchase their allotted official vehicles at subsidised prices ranging from Rs250,000 to Rs350,000, The Express Tribune reported.
The instructions were issued through a 74-page circular dated July 11, 2026, bearing reference No. 10048/TMF-P&D-11/DDJ.
The scheme covers District and Sessions Judges, Additional District and Sessions Judges, Senior Civil Judges, Civil Judges and Family Judges serving in the subordinate judiciary.
Judges posted in Anti-Terrorism Courts, Accountability Courts, Banking Courts, FIA Special Courts, Anti-Narcotics Courts, Customs Courts and Labour Courts are also eligible.
The concession has been extended to Punjab judicial officers serving on deputation at the Islamabad High Court, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Constitutional Court and federal and provincial law ministries.
Eligible officers may acquire Suzuki Alto, Toyota Corolla and Honda City vehicles currently allotted to them as official transport.
The vehicles remain the property of the Lahore High Court until completion of the purchase process.
The Director General, Directorate of District Judiciary, has directed judicial officers to submit pay orders in favour of the Registrar, Lahore High Court, by July 22, 2026.
Official figures show that Punjab’s judiciary includes 147 District and Sessions Judges, around 500 Additional District and Sessions Judges, 110 Senior Civil Judges and nearly 1,000 Civil Judges, Family Judges and Judicial Magistrates.
Court staff and judicial officers began visiting banks to obtain pay orders after the scheme was announced.
