PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, visited the head office of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) on Thursday and formally inaugurated the newly established KP-EZDMC Tower.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by provincial cabinet members Abdul Karim Tordher, Tufail Anjum, Dr. Muhammad Israr, Secretary Industries Aamir Afaq, officials from the Industries Department, KPEZDMC, and others.
The KP-EZDMC Tower was constructed at a cost of Rs. 670 million over three years. The tower covers a total area of four kanals and has seven floors.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said the geographical location and natural resources of KP are important and need to be fully utilized. He emphasized that effective use of the province’s potential can achieve economic self-sufficiency.
He added that 11 economic zones have been established, work on four more is in progress, and another four are in the pipeline. The provincial government is providing facilities and incentives to investors to promote investment in the province.
The Chief Minister mentioned opportunities for hydropower generation and said the government will supply electricity at lower rates to local industries. For this purpose, a plan to lay a transmission line has been initiated.
A new economic zone will be established in Katlang to utilize the transmission line. He said this project would transform the industrial sector of the province.
He stated the environment for private investment in the province is conducive and invited investors from across the country to invest and benefit from government facilities and incentives.
He added roadshows will be organized to inform investors about opportunities and that industries are being promoted in different areas based on their potential.
He noted special attention is being paid to value addition and capacity building. Investors undertaking value addition of products within the province will receive special incentives.
