Amazon plans $20 billion investment in Pennsylvania data centers

In Pennsylvania, the investment will create 1,250 high-skilled jobs and support thousands more in the data center supply chain

Amazon.com announced plans to invest at least $20 billion in Pennsylvania to expand data center infrastructure for its Amazon Web Services, supporting artificial intelligence growth.

The investment follows Amazon’s recent commitments of $10 billion in North Carolina and over $5 billion in Taiwan for cloud infrastructure. The company reported capital expenditures of about $25 billion in the first quarter and expects to maintain that spending level throughout the year.

In Pennsylvania, the investment will create 1,250 high-skilled jobs and support thousands more in the data center supply chain. Salem Township and Falls Township are the first identified sites for future data center campuses.

The company did not provide a timeline for the investment.
