The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reiterated its resolve to intensify operations against illegal structures and encroachments, while fast-tracking multiple urban development initiatives across Islamabad.
The commitment was renewed during a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the authority’s headquarters. The session was attended by senior officials including Member Planning, Member Finance, DG Building Control, DG Law, and others.
Chairman Randhawa directed relevant departments to take strict and impartial action against unauthorized constructions, stressing that legal enforcement is essential for the timely execution of development projects.
The meeting also focused on advancing the Urban Regeneration Plan, a flagship initiative aimed at delivering modern residential solutions to the city’s growing population. Randhawa emphasized that addressing Islamabad’s housing challenges remains a top priority and tasked the Planning Wing with devising a comprehensive strategy to tackle the issue.
In addition, he ordered enhanced measures to ensure uninterrupted water supply, upgrade sewerage and drainage systems, and improve infrastructure monitoring mechanisms to sustain public services.
The Planning Wing was also instructed to draft a structured plan for new commercial centers and apartment complexes, particularly in central sectors of the capital, as part of broader efforts to enhance urban livability and economic activity.
