Government working to equip Punjab women with skills for education employment and leadership says Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reviewed the progress of the Punjab Information Technology Board’s (PITB) digital programs aimed at supporting women’s financial independence.

She stated that the government is working to equip women in Punjab with skills that help them move forward in education, employment, and leadership. According to the Chief Minister, women now have the tools and opportunities to achieve their goals, which reflects the program’s impact.

The Chief Minister discussed PITB’s digital training programs, including the government’s SheWins initiative. SheWins is being implemented through Modern Skills Training Centers established in every district of Punjab. These centers offer courses in e-commerce, social media marketing, content creation, and other digital skills.

The Chief Minister said that women across the province are taking part in SheWins and are generating income through the skills they acquire. The program helps connect trained women with markets and economic opportunities across Punjab.

She also highlighted the work of Women Development Centers set up in universities throughout the province. These centers provide training, legal support, and leadership development for female students.

She said the aim is to build both self-reliance and professional confidence in young women. The Chief Minister reaffirmed her government’s focus on digital programs to help women contribute to the economic growth of Punjab.
