LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the launch of new initiatives to build the capacity of young people in Pakistan, with a focus on skills and training aligned with global demands.
He said providing youth with education, employment, and training opportunities remains a top priority for the government.
The prime minister made these comments during a meeting with Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, in Lahore on Saturday. Khan briefed the Prime Minister on ongoing initiatives aimed at youth empowerment and welfare under the programme.
Shehbaz Sharif said the youth are a key national resource and must play an active role in the country’s development. He emphasized the importance of modern skill training to prepare them for current economic and technological needs.
In a separate meeting, former federal minister and senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique met the Prime Minister to discuss the country’s political situation. Rafique congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on what he described as a public-friendly federal budget, saying it was a step toward economic stability.
Both leaders agreed on the need to address national issues through dialogue and cooperation.
