The Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) said that electricity supply from Iran, through the 132kV Pishin-Mand and 132kV Polan-Jiwani transmission lines, was disrupted on Monday.
The outage affected the power supply to all grid stations in the Makran division, including 132kV stations in Mand, Tump, Turbat, Hoshab, Panjgur, Jiwani, Gwadar Door, Gwadar Deep Sea Port, New Gwadar International Airport, Pasni, and Ormara.
QESCO acted swiftly to address the issue, and by 5pm, power was restored to the Makran division by connecting it to the national grid. Electricity was gradually resumed to all feeders, and supply has since been fully restored.
The spokesperson added that QESCO’s management has been in constant contact with Iranian authorities to resolve the disruption and restore the supply from Iran as soon as possible.
QESCO apologized for the inconvenience caused by the power outage and requested cooperation and patience from consumers during the restoration process.
