A high-level business delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation and promote private-sector investment. The delegation met with senior officials of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to discuss investment-ready projects across critical sectors.
As per reports, the Saudi team, led by Prince Mansour bin Mohammad Al Saud, chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Joint Business Council, held discussions with officials from the Petroleum and Power Divisions. Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari was also present. Key projects in the energy and petroleum sectors were presented during the meeting.
The delegation is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today [Wednesday] along with key cabinet members to explore strategic investment opportunities. Officials said the visit demonstrates full institutional backing from the Saudi government and aims to shift the economic partnership toward robust private-sector collaboration.
The delegation plans to review investment prospects in energy, mining, agriculture, IT, financial services, construction, semiconductors, and the food industry. “This visit marks a shift toward deepening economic cooperation at the private-sector level, with full institutional support from both sides,” a senior SIFC official said.
The Saudi representatives will also visit Lahore and Karachi. In Lahore, they will meet with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and leading business figures from Punjab.
In Karachi, discussions with the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and top industrialists will focus on trade facilitation, logistics, energy infrastructure, and industrial partnerships. The delegation will return to Riyadh from Karachi at the conclusion of the visit.
The visit follows the Pakistan–Saudi Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement signed on September 17, the current delegation is focused exclusively on economic and investment opportunities. The trip builds on momentum from a 135-member Saudi delegation visit in October 2024, led by Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih.
