The Government of Pakistan has recognised Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited (PTC) as one of the country’s leading exporters, citing its strong contribution to export earnings and overall economic growth.
In a statement issued on Friday, the company said the recognition reflects its consistent adherence to responsible business practices and its role as one of Pakistan’s longest established multinational enterprises.
PTC highlighted that it has paid more than Rs1 trillion to the national exchequer over the past five years, underscoring its record in governance, compliance and fiscal discipline, and reinforcing its position as a key contributor to the national economy.
According to the press release, PTC entered the export market in 2018 and has since expanded its international presence. Over the past eight years, the company has recorded exports exceeding $200 million, comprising tobacco and nicotine products supplied to multiple markets across Europe, South America, East Asia and the GCC.
The company said these export achievements are supported by world class manufacturing standards, advanced technology and strict compliance with international quality requirements.
Beyond exports and revenues, PTC said it continues to invest in sustainability initiatives, including responsible manufacturing practices, community development programmes and environmentally conscious strategies. The company said these efforts align with its long term commitment to sustainable growth in Pakistan.
PTC said the government’s acknowledgement as a leading exporter reflects its focus on operational excellence, corporate integrity and sustained contribution to Pakistan’s economic development.
