ECNEC approves four development projects worth over Rs240 billion

The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council on Monday approved four development projects with a combined cost exceeding Rs240 billion.

The approvals were granted at an ECNEC meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, according to an official statement issued by his office.

The sanctioned projects include the expansion of AFIC-NIHD Rawalpindi, the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme, the Karachi Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit corridor, and the 34.5-megawatt Harpo Hydropower Project in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The meeting was attended by the ministers for finance and planning, the minister for planning Sindh, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, secretaries of planning, defence and water resources, and senior officials from the Economic Affairs Division, finance ministry, NAVTTC, and other relevant departments.
