Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met a four-member delegation from Türkiye’s Agricultural Technologies Cluster (TUME) on Thursday to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in agriculture and livestock, the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The delegation, led by TUME Board Chairman Abdulkadir Karagöz, briefed the premier on advanced agricultural technologies aimed at improving crop yields and productivity. Karagöz expressed interest in expanding collaboration with Pakistan, describing bilateral ties as a guiding example for closer business engagement between the two countries.
Sharif said Pakistan aimed to transform its agricultural sector through the adoption of Turkish technological innovations and emphasised the need for comprehensive strategies and cooperation with friendly countries to modernise farming practices. He noted that Pakistan’s natural agricultural potential required modern technology to fully unlock productivity gains.
“Pakistan is keen to strengthen its exemplary brotherly ties with Türkiye through a robust economic partnership,” Sharif said, adding that both countries had the potential to become key players in the global food value chain.
The meeting was attended by Turkish Ambassador İrfan Neziroğlu, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, and senior officials.
