Dubai airports partially resume flights after Iranian missile strikes
Emirates and flydubai restart Monday evening; Etihad to resume Tuesday as Gulf airspace reopens

Dubai Airports said Monday evening that limited flights would resume at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), three days after Iranian missile strikes disrupted operations across the Gulf.
Emirates and low-cost carrier flydubai confirmed some services would restart Monday evening, while Etihad Airways, operating out of Abu Dhabi, said it would resume flights on Tuesday. The UAE had temporarily and partially closed its airspace over the weekend as a precautionary measure.
Since Saturday, Iran’s attacks have targeted military sites and civilian infrastructure, including airports, residential buildings, hotels, and sea ports, affecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Manama. Authorities reported one death at Abu Dhabi airport during the incident.
Dubai International Airport, the world’s second-busiest after Atlanta according to Airports Council International, plays a critical role in the emirate’s economy. The temporary closures hit a sector that accounts for roughly one-third of Dubai’s GDP, underscoring the economic impact of the regional escalation.
