The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has instructed field formations to ensure all officers and officials of the Inland Revenue Service, Pakistan Customs Service and related cadres submit any missing Declarations of Assets and Liabilities for the period up to June 30, 2025, by March 9, 2026.
The tax authority issued the direction in an urgent communication circulated on Tuesday, seeking immediate compliance from staff serving under the administrative control of field offices.
FBR said the Establishment Division has reminded departments of disclosure requirements under Rule 12 of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1964, which require a declaration of movable and immovable assets at the time of joining service.
It added that the rules also require an annual declaration of income, assets and expenses for the financial year ending June 30, reflecting changes compared with the previous return.
FBR said a consolidated report is to be provided to the Establishment Division on the status of asset declarations for FBR officers covering the last ten years of service.
In line with this, it asked field formations to advise all concerned officers and officials, including ex-cadre and other staff under their administrative control, to submit missing declarations up to the year ending June 30, 2025 by March 9, 2026.
