UBG chief calls on Pakistani investors to repatriate UAE funds, boost domestic economy

United Business Group (UBG) Patron-in-Chief SM Tanveer, also head of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, has called on Pakistani investors to withdraw funds from the UAE real estate market and reinvest in Pakistan.

In a statement on Wednesday, Tanveer stressed that keeping investments in conflict-prone regions is risky and urged the business community to support Pakistan’s economic stability. “Pakistan needs your support to achieve economic sustainability,” he said.

He highlighted efforts by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir over the past two years to stabilise the economy, noting that it is now the private sector’s turn to contribute.

Tanveer pointed to Pakistan’s strategic location, natural resources, and skilled workforce as strong reasons for domestic investment. “It is time for Pakistani investors to invest in their own country and contribute to its economic development,” he added.

He encouraged business leaders to engage with authorities to explore viable opportunities. “Your country needs your investment, your expertise, and your trust. Let us work together to build a stronger Pakistan,” Tanveer concluded.
