Pakistan holds adequate petrol, diesel stocks, OGRA says
Regulator says OMCs may regulate supply to retail outlets to prevent hoarding and panic buying

Pakistan currently has sufficient stocks of petrol and high-speed diesel, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) said on Wednesday, dismissing concerns about any shortage of petroleum products in the country.
In a statement, an OGRA spokesperson said fuel reserves remain within prescribed limits and urged the public not to rely on unverified information circulating on social media or other informal channels.
The regulator said Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) may temporarily regulate the supply of petroleum products to retail outlets in accordance with historical sales patterns. The step is intended to ensure the steady fuel availability and discourage hoarding during periods of price volatility.
OGRA said the measure is part of routine supply management and aims to maintain stability in the distribution network.
The spokesperson added that the precautionary step is designed to prevent artificial shortages that could arise from panic buying or speculative stockpiling.
