SadaPay has acknowledged a system issue that led to incorrect deductions and negative balances in some customer accounts, stating that all affected balances will be restored within 48 hours.
The company said the disruption was caused by a temporary problem with one of its technology partners, which resulted in erroneous transactions appearing in user accounts.
“Our users have reported seeing incorrect deductions and negative balances in their accounts. That’s on us - and we’re sorry,” said SadaPay.
It assured customers that their funds remain secure and said it is working to reverse transactions across banking and partner systems.
The development follows multiple complaints on social media, where users reported unexplained negative balances and delays in responses from customer support.
Some users said their accounts showed negative balances without any unusual activity, while others reported receiving payment-related warnings through messaging platforms.
Concerns were also raised about the inability to immediately deactivate accounts without assistance and delays in resolving issues through support channels.
Industry professionals said such disruptions do not indicate fraud, noting that SadaPay operates under the regulatory framework of the State Bank of Pakistan.
They said operational issues linked to external systems can occur and are typically resolved once the underlying problem is addressed, with services expected to return to normal after corrections are completed.
