Gwadar port receives 14,629-ton cargo shipment from Malaysia, trade activity expands

Gwadar Port received a cargo vessel from Malaysia carrying 14,629 metric tons of transhipment goods, marking continued activity at the port, officials said Sunday.

The vessel, MV Riva Glory, docked at the port with a consignment comprising multiple categories of commercial goods, according to port authorities.

A spokesperson for Gwadar Port Authority said unloading operations were underway in line with the scheduled plan.

Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch said the steady arrival of cargo vessels indicated increasing utilisation of the port for regional trade. He stated that operational capacity and logistics systems were supporting the handling of international shipments.

He added that Gwadar Port was facilitating trade flows for Pakistan and the surrounding regions, with expectations of further growth in cargo handling and transit trade.

The chairman said port authorities were continuing to provide facilities to investors and trading companies to support commercial activity.

Separately, the spokesperson said efforts were ongoing to expand operations and strengthen trade volumes at the port.
