Idrees Textile Mills cuts production amid cotton shortages, delayed imports

Idrees Textile Mills Limited has announced a temporary reduction in production activities due to high raw material costs, shortages of local cotton and delays in imported cotton shipments linked to the Middle East crisis.

According to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company said operational capacity would remain reduced for approximately four weeks starting from May 18, 2026, or until imported cotton consignments arrive and the new cotton crop season begins.

The company stated that prevailing market conditions and disruptions in cotton availability had forced management to slow production activities.

Idrees Textile Mills said delays in imported cotton shipments, coupled with shortages in local cotton supply, had created operational challenges for the textile manufacturer.

The company added that it expected operations to gradually normalise depending on improvements in market conditions and raw material availability.
