Pakistan holds trade and investment talks with Chinese firms across textiles, mining and e-commerce sectors

Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan held a series of meetings with leading Chinese companies during his official visit to China aimed at strengthening bilateral trade, attracting investment and expanding Pakistan’s export footprint across key sectors.

According to a statement, the commerce minister met representatives of eight Chinese enterprises to explore opportunities for cooperation in textiles, agriculture, mining, chemicals, e-commerce and food processing.

During a meeting with Zhong Heng Textile, discussions focused on yarn imports and improving Pakistan’s cottonseed quality through Chinese technology.

The minister highlighted Pakistan’s strategic location and reiterated the government’s commitment to facilitating long-term Chinese investment.

In talks with Fortune Tech, both sides discussed cooperation in organic products, seed development and technology-driven quality enhancement.

Meetings with Shanghai Zhongken Xinshen Technology focused on mining sector collaboration, mineral exploration opportunities and financing mechanisms.

During discussions with Nanjing Jinshan Chemical Technology, the minister discussed expanding exports of Pakistani copper, lead-zinc, iron ore, guar gum and sugar.

The Chinese company expressed interest in establishing long-term procurement arrangements for Pakistani products.

Engagements with Shanghai Pingyuan-Tech centred on digital trade cooperation and e-commerce connectivity between the two countries.

The minister also met representatives of AHCOF Neochains Holdings to discuss opportunities in sesame trade, focusing on quality assurance and stable supply arrangements.

In a separate meeting with Zhejiang Grain, Oil and Food, both sides explored expanding exports of competitively priced Pakistani agricultural products to the Chinese market.
