Monthly allowances of bureaucrats to be increased for promotion of exports

The government has decided to pay monthly allowances to bureaucrats for conducting studies for the promotion of exports. Bureaucrats serving the Ministry of Commerce will be given monthly allowances ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs120,000. Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir Khan, chairperson of the Board Export Development Fund approved to pay the allowances to all the members serving in the bureaucracy except for federal secretary. Grade-17 officers will receive the lowest amount while the highest will be awarded to grade-21 officers.

The Ministry officials corroborated that the proposal was approved. Since the minister is visiting China alongside PM Nawaz, a confirmation from him could not be obtained. Ministry of Finance, however, has resisted the move.
